Mount Etna: Winery Tour and Tasting

About This Experience
The premium version of the Gambino cellar visit: five wines instead of four, and a food pairing that runs well past a cheese plate into a hot course and a dessert.
You are met with a glass of white, then a sommelier takes you round the estate — including the walkway above the barrel hall, where the explanation covers how the wines are made, how the estate came about and what to pair them with. The winery sits at 900 metres on the north-eastern flank and the view from the tasting terrace is the reason it appears in so many photographs.
The tasting itself is five current vintages served with hard-boiled egg, the estate's extra-virgin olive oil, preserves in oil, Sicilian cheeses, cold cuts, a seasonal soup or velouté, grilled sausage with baked potatoes and spinach, and a small ricotta cannolo to finish. Bread and still water are included.
Because you arrive under your own steam, this is the option for anyone with a car or a driver — it costs a fraction of a Taormina transfer tour and gives you longer at the table.

Good to Know & Caveats
- State your preferred start time when booking — the estate schedules tastings rather than running them continuously.
- Booking needs confirmation from the winery, so it is not an instant-confirm product.

- If you do not drink, book the Youth ticket for the no-wine version of the same experience.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from the standard tasting at the same winery?
Five glasses instead of four, and the food goes beyond the cheese-and-preserves plate to a seasonal soup, a hot course of grilled sausage with potatoes and spinach, and a cannolo. It runs about two hours rather than ninety minutes.
Is transport included?
No. You make your own way to Linguaglossa. That is why it is so much cheaper than the Taormina and Catania departures — you are paying for the tasting, not the minibus.
How high is the winery?
Around 900 metres on the north-eastern slope, which is high for a working vineyard and part of why Etna's whites keep their acidity.
Can we come if someone in the group does not drink?
Yes. Book that person the Youth ticket, which is the same visit and food pairing without the wine.
Do we need to book a specific time?
Yes — you are asked to state your preferred start time at booking, and the winery confirms it. Do not turn up on spec.
Is the food enough for lunch?
For most people yes: a hot course, cheeses, cold cuts, soup or velouté, bread and dessert alongside five glasses. It eats like a long lunch.
